Lagos has many stylish cafés most of which sell food. The range of coffee is broad from the tall milky Galão to the small black bica. Most cafés are licensed so you can enjoy a tipple with your coffee or visit a café as an alternative to a bar. The food ranges from sweet and savory cakes to light meals.

 LazyJacks - Lagos Marina

LazyJacks is a Café/Bar on the Marina in Lagos. They provide home cooked food at really good prices in the pictureeque setting. In the evening they have Live Music to suit all tastes. They have been established for since 2006 and have a strong following.

Everyday Happy meals Mid Day till 2pm and from 6pm till 9.pm €7.00 including free Glass Wine or Beer. Also Happy Hour deals on drinks, ask the Staff for info.

The Majola Cafe - Avenida dos Descrobrimentos

The Majola Cafe is the first social enterprise in Lagos with a major portion of profits allocated to approved social and environmental projects.

This architect designed and build coffee shop is part of the Lagos landscape and a must visit. It is situated in the Avenida dos Descrobrimentos between the Bus Stop and the Taxi rank (and faces Portugal Telecom Blue Shop window) … with a view of the marina as well as the sea.

Now under the management of Portuguese and South African Social Entrepreneurs it offers you a variety of Portuguese, English and South African dishes and drinks. You can enjoy, milkshakes, 100% orange juices,

jacket potatoes with various fillings (tuna, chicken, vegetarian, prawns) hotdogs, various types of sandwiches, and even traditional sweet English pancakes. It has a bar facility as well as traditional “strong” Portuguese coffee and we will even serve you a Cuppa - coffee or tea mug if you want.

Oasis Café - Marina de Lagos

A fantastic place to relax any time of day. English owned and serving genuine English products we are popular with tourists and locals alike. Serving breakfast, lunch, evening meals, snacks or just a drink, we have something for everyone. Plenty of vegetarian options also. Xpreitaqui - Rua do Castelo dos Governadores

Pedro's café is arguably the best in town. They serve delicious freshly made juices,smoothes and shakes: Try their home made croissants,quiche or apple pies. They have a great snack menu and their coffees are a delight. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere make it very popular and it can be jammed at night with both locals and holiday makers. (Our favorites are the smoothies and the huge tuna salad baguettes).

Cervajaria Brico - Rua 25 de Abril

Beautiful location known to many as the orange tree café,as the outside seating area is shaded by orange trees. Again very nice snack and drinks menu. Ideal for a lazy lunch or a snack. Good spot for people watching(a national sport in Lagos). Our Mum refuses to pass unless she has a Ice cream stop!!.

Occeana café - Plaça Gil Eanes

In the main square,it is a beautifully decorated interior the walls are covered in beautiful mosaics.It has a large outside seating area right on the main square. It has a snack and main meal menu and it has pastries to die for,great coffees and lots of ice creams.

Mimar - Rua A.B.Viana

This café snack bar is on a nice pedestrianised street just off Plaça Luis De Camoes Square. Small but very busy at breakfast and lunch. It has a buffet type bar and they will fill up your plate or make up a take away. Again great cakes and pastries(try a slice of there chocolate cake for a treat)..

Giga Cafe - Rua Conselheiro Joaquim Machado

Located on Rua Conselheiro Joaquim Machado a quiet pedestrianised area looking out onto attractive square, Praça Luis de Camoes.... this Cafe has been re/furbished inside and is chic ,modern and spacious. The staff are friendly and there are tables on the street. It has a extensive menu a ice cream bar and as usual the juices and coffees on offer are excellent.


Croissanteria 29 - This place is a jewel of Lagos. The Croissants are large, delicious and freshly baked in glass fronted ovens so you can see them baking. The choices of fillings is huge and creative. Insider tip: If you can’t decide, there is a little known croissant, not listed on the menu called “The Rising Cock”, this has just about all the savory fillings in one croissant.

Café Fresco is a little hard to find, but well worth the effort. Located in a nice quiet spot Behind the abandoned mansion, behind the bus station. They have Fresh squeezed juices and Smoothies in a wide selection of flavors. A great breakfast menu. A huge selection of salads and sandwiches and very tempting full meals that are created specially for the day.

Bora Café - This small Café just off the memorial square is fantastic. They always go the extra mile to present your food and drinks with stylish presentation. International Café - This place is a great find. The food is fantastic and the prices are refreshingly good. They have won a place in our “Great Places To Eat For €5” section. From quality English breakfasts to Sunday roasts. Check out their Godzilla Burger, as you can guess from the name it’s a monster! The decor is stylish and comfortable. With big screens and couches you can relax and enjoy music videos or the game. Free WiFi too. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to make your visit one to remember.
